151-300

151/2018: My whole family were together in the same town [twice] for no other reason other than to just go camping, catch up and hang out [so awesome]. It was a big effort to get this photo, but once it was taken we ended up sitting here for about 15 minutes [just being] watching the kids run and be silly around us! # family # specialmoments

152-153/2018: It's not often you get a photo with dad [smiling]. So this one is pretty special. It was dad's birthday on the 27th Jan, and while he was hanign out with me and mum packing up the camp ground he got to spend a few days before his bitherday just hanging out with his children and grandchildren and I know this would have been his best birthday present. Love you dad!

PS: I wonder what was in mum's glass???

154-155/2018: Even more special moments.

Nana Time.

It's hard to tell she is 98. She's had an amazing life, so many stories, so many people. We just love hanging out with her!

156-57/2018:

Nana had pulled out all of Grandad's old diaries from 1960 - 2003. Such an extraordinary life during this time and so cool that he kept a diary for this entire time. so many interesting facts and information! [One of the cooler entries] 24-10-1987: Twins born 9.30 Jason & Mallory. Gardens AM Hosp afternoon. To see Wilson and Win Gray. Brought Dale home. [What an awesome day!] I love that he mentioned me first but failed to note that we were born 10 mins apart, not both at 9.30 and that the birth of his grandchildrendidn't stop him attending the garden and socialising!!! Miss you lots Grandad.

158/2018: Flying without wings.

If she flaps fast enough i'm sure she'll just take off.

Katelin the ballerina. fun hanging out with cook chick. So much energy and so much cretivity.

159-161/2018: Found this old backgammon set. Love this game. Who will I play with??? #wheresroderick

162/2018:

My first ever parking ticket!

In Timaru of all places.

I parked for 4 hours in a P60 zone.

Whoops.

But it was only $15 [and I got a 15% discount for paying it within 14 days of infringement. Stoked. Wish parking tickets were tich cheap in Sydney!!!

163/2018:

The famous Fairlie Bakehouse. THe best pies in the South Island. Fairlie is a small town in the Mackenzie District of Canterbury, NZ. Pop 717. The gateway to the Mackenzie Basin, multiple ski fields and on the road from Christchurch to Queenstown. this town is slowly on the rise.

The bakery is full of pies and sandwiches and coffee. Usually the queue is out the door and on January 1 2018 they sold approx 2500 pies and the queue was way down the street. But the pies are definitely worth it.

2 pies in two days. #holidaylife

164-167/2018: It's not often I get to drive to/from Wanaka via Lake Tekapo/Mackenzie District. So cool to have the time this trip to drive this route. A stunning drive, lakes, passes, mountains, farm life. Just stunning countryside. New Zealand's road may not be the most extravagant or wide and there may not be many passing lanes in some places but that's okay, just take your time, enjoy the twists and turns and have an amazing journey.  #newzealandfinds

168/2018: the famous Omarama Merino. This statue was erected as a tribute to the merino sheep which have been farmed in the district since 1858. The fine wool sheep are still farmed in the mountains to a height of 7000 feet. Sculpture bu Bill Adams 1994.

Mmaaaaa

169-170/2018: I have been driving between Timaru and Wanaka, NZ for the last 24 [ish] years and every time I drive through Tarras in Central Otago, I see Jolly Road and think, "I wonder why that is such a happy road". Finally we turned Right and headed down this beautiful windy Jolly Road. And Jolly it was. slowly we climbed up to the gentle hill and snapped the pic on the LEFT [looking towards Cromwell and Lake Dunstan] then took a sharp right turn and took the photo on the RIGHT [ looking towards Wanaka and the Southern Alps]. A gorgeous drive. Definitely not suitable if towing a boat or trailer or caravan but if you ahve a few extra minutes and are not towing anything don't miss this turn off and explore another beautiful NZ road!

171-178/2018: THE BEAUTIFUL GLENDHU EVENING SKY.

When it doesn't get dark until 10.30PM it's pretty easy to get some sweet, relaxing, calm shots of the Wanaka sky. Hard to get sick of this place. If you need to get away from the hustle and bussle of life, then this is where you need to go. Glendhu Bay. From the lake to the mountains, to  the river, to the road, to the bike path, to the hills, to the beach, to the camp ground. So easy to relax and unwind in this peaceful bay or paradise!

#LakeWanaka

179/2018:

Look who we found in the tent. Not as creepy and gross as mice but still a little creeps. and unlike mice if you try to scare them they just freeze and not scamper off int o a hold in the wall/tent.

Apparently you sholdn;t touch one of these guys as they tend to carry A LOT of diseases and you could get pricked and get those diseases in you blood and essentially get sick and die.

And they can run really fast [when you leave them alone]

180/2018: check out that view [in the glasses, not the face]. Pretty hard to get sick of!!!

181-182/2018: LOOK INTO MY EYES.

SHEEP: depend heavily on their vision. They have horizontal slit-shaped pupils, with excellent peripheral vision with a visual field of 270-320˚ and can see behind themselves without turning their heads. However, they have poor depth perception and they cannot see immediately in front of their noses.

HORSES: using both eyes they can see virtually 350˚ and the horse has an almost "sphere of vision' around its body with only a few small blind spots.

183-187/2018:

I went for a run along the Glendhu Bay to Wanaka millennium track. An about 3km into the run I stumbled into a heard of cows. They'd been taking a drink in the lake [and probably taking a wee. Don't drink the lake water]. They seems more scared of me than anything else and just wanted to escape. As I ran towards them just started to walk faster to get away from me [either that or they just didn't like having their photos taken. Where elese would you have your morning run interrupted by a family or cows. Love this place.

The final pic on the RIGHT is looking up towards the head of Lake Wanaka from Damper bay.

188-189: After a cloudy, humid, overcast day [see cows on the track above] to a few hours later. A crystal clear blue sky, clear lake beauty of a final day at Lake Wanaka!

190-193/2018: Love the [REALLY] late nights of NZ in the summer!!

Cool to see the slow, gradual change in colour over the space of 35 minutes. This one is looking south west towards Queenstown up the Motatapu Valley.

Love a good sunset. The change in colour, cloud formation, light, darkness, temperature. Where ever you are in the world, take the time to just watch a sunset

194/2018: just one more sunset pic over Lake Wanaka. Same night at 9.52PM looking towards the Wanaka Township behind the hill on the far right of the picture.

A quick dash across the camp to get the final Motatapu vally shot above. The campers were all looking at me funny as if there was some emergency. No real emergency, just that I was loosing light, fast!]

195/2018:

Final day at Lake Wakaka and Glendhu Bay this summer at least. It has been amazing, beautiful, relaxing, peaceful, calm, hot, yum, happy, funny, sweaty, adventurous, educational [thanks Charlotte G. for giving me a summer sky star gazing lesson!] and memorable. Wanaka, you will always be a VERY special place and I can't wait to come back again soon!!!

196-198/2018: TARRAS: Oftern somewhere that you tend to just drive straight through [now they have fancy cleann toilets] it has become a place to take a quick break and take cool pictures like these. Moo. Tarras if surrounded by farms, mainly cattle and merino sheep and also since 2000 it is now a thriving wine region [Bendigo-sub region]

199/2018: SUCCESS!

The last time I attempted to back a trailer I reversed the front of Mum's car into to the side of Dad's office at his work smashing the head lights. Whoops. hahah. Neither Mum or Dad were very impressed. So I was pretty stoked to a) tow this caravan all the way from Omarama to Timaru [in the dark] and successfully back it into its parking space at home. Maybe I should buy a caravan!!!

200-201/2018: LOVE THIS. Amazing advice. The cool things you find at your brother and sister in laws house!.

202/2018: Is this purple cauliflower or just normal cauliflower that's fallen in the beetroot jar. Does it taste like beetroot or just normal cauliflower?

#purple

203-205/2018. NANA. So special [and slightly emotional] hanging out with Nana this week. She is just beautiful and so glad to be able to just hang and chat and laugh and learn. I've learnt a lot from Nana this week, all the random memories she has and in the MIDDLE here is her little notebook - filled with lots of date from the last 40+ years. All the dates that she can't remember now without a prompt.

On the LEFT is is Nana with a picture of her Mother. #likemotherlikedaughter. Two beautiful ladies. Both in their 90's. Nana's mum is about 91 in this picture, Nana wasn't sure why she had this picture taken but she gave a copy to her brother and Nana inherited it he he died. Nana doesn't think they look alike. I think they are spiting images of each other!!!

Love you heaps Nana. I'll see you in April!

206/2018: Andy Warhol meets New Zealand. Another one for the tea towel collection!!

207/2018:

Yum

Steak and eggs

208/2018: Caroline Bay might be a little lonley and flat and bland and quiet and dog friendly but you can guarantee you'll always find some great drift wood. Mum would live this in her backyard. if only she could carry it all!

209-213/2018: if only you could smell this beautiful produce. So cool cathcing up with Emma, Chris and George at Raewood's supermarket. and to wander around and smell all the beautiful produce. Pitty I couldn't bring any of it back to Sydney.

214/2018:

New Zealand you have been pretty choice. Hanging out with all the whanau in Kiwiland, eating lots of Kai and enjoying the Whenua, Moana and the Hiwi. Ka Pai NZ for an amazing time.

Kite ano

215/2018: a pretty sweet welcome home! #anzacbridge it all its glory

216-217/2018: New Zealand has been amazing. So good to to relax and unwind and enjoy the beautiful country, but now it's back to work, back to reality back to spinal physiotherapy. But when this is where I got to work today, it makes getting back to work pretty easy. Hanging out in Gwandalan, on the south of Lake Macquarie. #lovecommunitylife

218/2018: Lunch in the water!. Wish I brought my togs. A beautiful day for a swim here ar Budgewoi in between clients.

The perks of community life.

219-221/2018: A nearly perfect panorama.

Budgewoi beach, NSW central coast.

222/2018:

I love to cook. I love good food. I love healthy food. I love meat. I love good wine. I love red wine. I love others cooking for me.

So good to be back in my kitchen after a weeks holidays. [And while we ate pretty well camping and travelling...Thanks Mum and Lesley] nothing beats a home cooked meal and a glass of South Australia Barossa GSM form Priate Cru [especially after my lack of alcohol intake in January, not to mention the tequilla and gin intake with Mum. hahaha]

#home cooking

223-224/2018: I cycle over the Gladeville bridge 6-8 times a week and lately I have notice how my bird shit is onto of the boats below. Clearly a sign on the usage [or lack there] of these boats. Surely if you owned a boat on Sydney Harbour you'd want to take care of it and not let it get dirty and gross like this one.

225/2018: Chatswood from the top of the Gladesville bridge. This really is an amazing vantage point for Sydney. Views from Hunters Hill Chatswood to North Sydney, to the Sydney harbour Bridge to the CBD to Five Dock to Olympic Stadium to Huntleys Cove. #lovethisbridge

226-228/2018: The cool things you find when you are out running errands on a Friday night with Izzy.

Can anyone name all of these birds?

229-230: Park runs!. Love the contract of the sky and the grass.  This light rail bridge [probably the old main rail line but now used as part of the Central to Haberfield Light rail line] use to be filled with homeless people and their tents but recently they have disappeared. [Where to]  Hope they have some place safe to live.

What will become of this park [Wentworth] in the future with the new development of the fish markets and proposals to remove the greyhound racing stadium behind this bridge? will this bridge remain or will it go under ground to accommodate large high rise apartments? [Watch this space]

231/2018: Early morning walks [in between rain showers]. The #Anzacbridge is such a beach no matter what angle manage to capture it from!

232/2018: Anyone know what this leopard like snail creature is. [S]he must love the wet, damp conditions as it crawls ever so slowly along the grass. Izzy wanted to eat it!. [sorry Izzy, it's not chicken!]

233/2018: [Low tide] It's a long way down. Boating adventure epicness, Izzy can't contain her excitement!

234-235/2018: After a few rain showers it's toilet time [if only Izzy would wee on the transom] at Quarantine Bay.  Crazy storm clouds and reflections [and the giant Rat] made it worth it!

236/2018:

Good Morning Sydney

Love waking up to views like this, the feeling of rolling waves, the crashing of these waves against the short and the sun slowly coming up over the hill and the bird chirping in the North Head National Park..

What a treat for your senses.

Time for tea and eggs for breakfast!

#weekendadventres

#porthole

237/2018: Is that a seal, fish or a super dog?

Izzy hated the water when we fist got her 18 months ago, but now she is just a little water puppy. [Especially if there are birds or ducks around]

240/2018: I love the water, I love to swim, I love to challenge myself, I love to cross the finish line [uninjured]. After a summer of being in the water but not actually swimming as much as I should of, I took the plunge into the deep end of the Cole Classic 2km swim from Shelly to Manly this morning. This is one of my most favourite swims and beaches and I'm so glad I did it [and didn't drown]. Sometimes when you haven't done the prep it becomes a mental game and knowing the limits of your body. I didn't smash any records, but I had fun and I finished without injury and got another piece of metal to add to the collection.

Challenge yourself. Set small goals. Have fun achieving them.

241-242/2018: Charred Broccoli, corn rice salad with Prawns and Lime and honey dressing.

Yum. Healthy. Easy. Delicious.

PS: mum will probably tell me off for cooking prawns and broccoli on the same hot plate. Whoops.

 243/2018:

A perfect way to end an epic weekend on [an in] Sydney Harbour.

Two of Grandad Cunningham's favourite things: Sunsets and watching planes!.

Very relaxing eating dinner on the balcony, chilling out and then getting this beautiful show.

244/2018:

Is it just me or is there another ANZAC Bridge spanning from Pyrmont to North Sydney. #illusion

How did I do this? Message me to find out.

245/2018:

Thanks Bridget for teaching me how to play Yahtzee last week!. Now I'm addicted!

246-251/2018: This week was all about fresh vegetables and herbs! I love cooking yum healthy food with delicious produce. From beans and asparagus to rocket and pesto!. Love good food, love cooking [one of my happy places, best way to unwind after a busy day].

#eatwell

252/2018: Every time I take a picture of a rose I think of Nana Redhead and her rose garden. She had the the most amazing garden and there are so many pictures of her spending time there. She still had some roses in her garden at home but is no longer able to get out into the garden to look after them. [anyone know the name of this specific rose?]

253-254/2018:

A little wander around Mosman Bay with Izzy and found the Scouts Club. [does anyone still go to Scouts anymore?] I missed out on the scouts adventure growing up. Instead me and my brothers went to Boys Brigade 3rd Timaru club. Haha, so many memories of Friday nights revolving aroudn Boys Brigade. Especially the cool camps we went on [better than the sleep overs my sister had to go on at Girls Brigade!!!] #childhoodmemories

255-256/2018: I have driven past this view a thousand times in the last 12 years but this week was the first time I've taken the time to stop, park and walk back to capture this view from Rangers Ave, Mosman. What a beautiful city

257/2018: Circular Quay in all it's working glory. After a crazy, busy [physically and mentally] week, an early morning 12k run is just what I needed [minus the heat and humidity]

I love this pic [taken from the top of the steps form the Cahill expressway to Macquarie Street] capturing Sydney's beautiful working harbour. From bulldozers, to food deliveries, to ferries, to cruise ships, to fuel tankers, Sydney never stops. So much activity for a Saturday morning!

258-260/2018: With all the building going on around Sydney, loving seeing all the pop up art around the city [instead of trashy graffiti]. Such an awesome way to show off some local artist!

261/2018:

[Not that stupid tower again]

The tallest tower in Sydney can be seen from so many different locations around they city but not often from this angle or this lack of visibility.

So often we just look in front of us, always in a hurry but we need to make sure we look up more often!

A great vantage spot if you want infinity views of the city

262/2018:

[Not that stupid tower - AGAIN]

See what I mean, so many vantage points. This time from the mini beach in Bicentennial Park in Glebe where Izzy had a field day with all the other puppies!

"I just love Saturdays when I get to hang out with my boys and go on lots of fun adventures. I wish every day was a Saturday!"

263/2018:

We might have missed out of attending the Asian markets at Carriageworks last night but  the next best thing is dinner at Billy Kwong's restaurant in Potts Point. Amazing, delicious, fresh, flavoursome food. Just love Kylie's cooking style. ESPECIALLY her fried eggs dish. PS: I've love this wine cabnient in my home!

264/2018:

What a beautiful, relaxing end to a fun Saturday.

Life can be busy, stressfull. chaotic, difficult [and/or] crazy; so make sure you take the time to "just look up" from day to day life and enjoy some of life's beauties around you.

Especially when Amsterdam from the Holland America Line in is port!

265/2018: The reflection on the water always amazes me. Especally when there is cloud and clear blue sky and the sun trying ot peak through the clouds.

[The beauty of physics]

266/2018: Often in life remember there are two sides to most situations. This plant is sharp and annoying and gets in the way, but it is beautiful and intricate full of life just trying to succeed. Think of the other side of the coin before you give an opinion or make a decision.

267-269/2018: after a lazy day on the boat an in Sydney Harbour its time to get home out of the wide and pakc this little girl away. An insane swell made for a wet trip. Hard to get sick of harbour adventures like this.

270/2018:

Anyone know a Mr Robert C Wyatt who lost his Bankcard sometime before March 1980. 38 years later and I've found his card [almost as good as new] in Athol Bay, Sydney.

Goes to show you that Plastic really is fantastic and doesn't breakdown!

If you know a Mr Robert C Wyatt, Let me know, he is welcome to his card back!

271-273/2018: Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down. Pyrmont must have been the most healthiest suburb in Sydney back in the day!

#historyofsydney

274/2018:

Very hard to read but the following are some of the sentences painted on these railway slepers in Pyromnt;

- There are divers weakness peculiar to the men who work in different parts of the refinary

- As the fire seized big stacks and bins of sugar immense geysers of flames shot into the air

- CSR Refinery built 1878

- CSR Refinery closes 1992

- I use to turn the bags inside out

- The dimensions of the new swimming basin on average are one hundred and seventy six inches long and fifty nine feet wide

Love seeing the history of Pyrmont on display in unique ways to give you a real idea of what life back int eh day was like here in Pyrmont. Very different to the now most populated suburb in Australia!

275/2018:

More Pyrmont History. This glass pictorial has printed at the bottom;

"The Colonial Sugar Refining Co's Works, Pyrmont, Sydney 1892"

So cool to see what Pyrmont was like. The industry, the buildings, the people. As Jackson's Landing comes near completion, it's great to see the heritage remains and is shown in unique, fun ways.

276/2018: Not much sharing going on, this bike hasn't moved in over two weeks. [only sharing is that it is borrowing another company's helmet]

277/2018: My bike has had a lot more use. And it has more gears so is way more fun to ride. And it is free.

278/2018: Saint Valentine's Day. A very long tradition dating back to 269AD when Valentine of Rome was Martyred..

279/2018: All these years later and it is a billion dollar industry here in Australia.

280/2018: Love those close to you, be love, show love, share love, Let love win!

281/2018: Let love shine, embrace it, don't hide it.

282.2018:

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike. But it is so hot that I'm glad I can get some shade under this massive bike sculpture. How many wheels can you see?

#artandabout

283/2018:

When it's so hot outside where better to hide that behind a park bench.

"I wish I was blond. Blonds have way more fun and they are cooler than me. Although I have a lot of fun. I'm pretty spoilt, let's be honest!"

284-286: As the das slowly get shorter, it's alomnst sunset season, From one day to the next the sun and the clouds and the general weather can change so dramatically to create such different beauty! Keep your eyes open at this time of year and remember to just look up to capture this beauty yourself.

287/2018: Look what arrived in the post. Just in time for some fun chill out days on the boat.

A rosé is any light pink wine, coloured only by the brief contact with the red grape skin. It may be the oldest known type of wine, as it is the most straightforward to make with the skin contact method. [And on a hot summery day it is the most refreshing]

NB: generally speaking the lighter the colour the bestter the flovour of rosé.

288-289/2018: Late night wanderings around Pyrmont and checking out the start of the CHinese New Year Festivities, It you look closely you;ll see that the eastern side of the bridge is lit up red to signify peace and good luck for the new year. Happy Chinese New Year everyone.

#Pyrmontlocal

290-295/2018: A hot and humid 18k run this morning. Such a cool place to run from South Mosman wharf [with the ferries coming in to dock and the Crystal Serenity anchored in the harbour] around the coast to Bradley's head [with stunning views of the city and the cruise ships to Balmoral beach to Bathers Pavillion [with lots of people swimming and playing on the beach.]

What a stunning harbour we live on. so much activity and such beauty. Get down and explore and enjoy the harbour today!

296-298/2018: Some of the beauties handing out int he National Park on this morning's run.

Please message me if anyone knows the names of these girls?

299/2018: So cool seeing Lilly [dark pink] and the Little Dragons perform tonight at Spice Alley Block Party. Awesome talent for 12 year olds #cny #littledragons

300/2018: Happy Chinese New Year. Celebrate and enjoy the festivities over the next few weeks here in Sydney. Enjoy the peace, calm, luck and beauty [and of course adventures] of the next Lunar Year.

And of course the next 85% of this Epic Journey!!!

The adventure continues
