1801-1802/2018: Used [some of] these beautiful chillies to make a chilli oil for this delicious Saganaki prawn dish toped with chilli oil rocket. So yum and fresh. #homecooking
1803/2018: Did you know 75% of suicides in AUstralia in 2017 were male! The Movember foundation are doing some pretty awesome stuff for men's physical and mental health. 1804-1806/2018: Mid week runs through Pyrmont. I think Izzy was getting frustrated with me today as I kept stopping. "hurry up" was the look in her eyes!
1807-1811/2018: It's been a wild week of weather, wind, rain [200ml in one day] and sunshine.
1812/2018:
It's been an adventurous year in my photography world this year. But it's that time of year when I am trying to put together a 2019 calendar and when you have over 1800 photos to choose from and when so much has happened this year, it's so hard to choose just 13 photos!
Here I've managed to dwindle it down to my top 62.
Eventually I got to 13.
Message me if you'd like a copy of the final product.
1817-1821/2018: Urban adventures from North Sydney growers markets to the Bayer building.
The Bayer Building [#1818] is where Roderick's new gig is, Hello Alfred, check him out on IG and FB and if you are in the area [M-F 7am-4pm], stop in for a Campos coffee and say "Hi"
1822-1823/2018: So much signage on the roads. How does anyone have time to read them all?
1824-1829/2018: Wanderings around Kirribilli. A high tourist area especially with the great views of Sydney Harbour. Which is your favourite part of Kirriibilli?
1830/2018: Izzy loves adventuring. Can she spot a duck?
1831/2018: Artwork by Karen Atkins. Love Karen's Style. Cool that she paints on items that are already in the community, like this electricity box, making the community a little more interesting and brighter.
1832-1834/2018: Not exactly Christmas colours but beautiful colours of nature. Warm, happy colours.
1835/2018:
The reason I took this photo [wasn't because these steps look tiring, or the read trees look stunning against the blue sky] was to show you that finally they have built an elevator to access the Sydney Harbour Bridge walk or less mobile people or those in wheelchairs can now enjoy the beauty of this amazing structure.
1836-1841/2018: A pretty sweet bridge to explore. How many times have you walked across this bridge?
1842/2018: I wonder if this is what Izzy sees after she chases other dogs around in circles at a million miles an hour?
1843-1845/2018: It is such a hidden world down at Barangaroo these days. So much to see and do and eat and drink. And this installations is just some of what is in display covering up the ongoing building sits. #artandabout
1846/2018:
Finally got me a hair cut. I was so hot and bothered and sweating so much under all that fur. So glad the Dads finally got rid of it all for me. Now I can run so much faster and I might even be able to catch the ducks. I know I was looking a bit fat before but really I'm just a little girl. I was so well behaved [except I get a bit frustrated when then play with my feet, just a little ticklish there]. I was so good I even got a big piece of beef jerky all to my self. My favourite time of the day!
1847-1848/2018: I have learnt a thing or two from mum's florist days!
1949/2018: My most favourite biscuit!. Instant pudding biscuits with sultanas. So yum
1850-1861/2018: A lovely, relaxing stroll around the coast of Coogee this morning before an 8am meeting at Barzura [delicious scrambled eggs!]
1862/2018:
When I got home tonight there was this weird noise coming from the balcony but every time I went to check on it it would stop. Typical. I thought it might be a cicada. It got really annoying as cicada's do. But no, it was actually this little guy, just having a play behind our balcony plants. Happy for him to play as long as he made no noise. He wouldn't listen, so a quick flick and he was gone, off to annoy someone else
1863/2018: Progress is slow but the final piece of Jacksons Landing if starting to take shape. Check out the "WORKSHOP" building by Milligans Group to see the projected final product.
1865/2018: 5+ a day. well this is actually only 3 but surely it will be enough to meet the 5+ requirements. Miso Salmon w veges and rice!
1866-1871/2018: Saturday morning adventures around Glebe Bicentennial park
1872-1873/2018:
Same flower, same settings. Just change of focus point. Which is your favourite?
1874/2018:
1875-1876/2018:
1877-1881/2018:
1882/2018: Love Izzy dates in the park!
1883-1884/2018: They predicted 100% chance of rain all day today but when I looked out the window didn't see any sign of it, so I jumped on my bike and took a risk. I managed to get to and from work without a drop of rain on me. Good weather reporting The Weather Channel!
1885-1886/2-18: A Boat of Two Halves
1887-1889/2018: It is storm season in Sydney. And we've having a brilliant start to the season. One of my favourite this about December is the storms, so much beauty in the sound, colours, lights, cloud formations, speed and overall nature of them. Each storm has it's own story and effects us and the land differently!
1890-1892/2018: Which is your favourite view of Jacksons Landing's colourful "SILK" building?
From Left to Right: Zoom change, position change or standing still?
1893/2018: It is that time of year again and I'm not the best at buying presents for people [in fact. I'm pretty useless at it] but I do liek to make and send Christmas cards. Just a small selection of this years recipients
1894/2018:
While I was having a Western Australian [WA] beer in New South Wales [NSW], my brother was having a NSW beer in WA.
Good to see we supporting our locals!
1899-1901/2018: I love exploring Tamania, Australia. It reminds me so much of New Zealand from the landscape to the people to the food and produce. A must on everyone's bucket list!
1902-1904/2018: Three amazing wineries in the Tamar Valley
[Tamar Ridge, Holm Oak and Delamere].
1905/2018: Beautiful cellar doors in the Tamar Valley, Tamania.
1906-1907/2018: Some of the beautiful things we found at Delamere Winery. The Alsatian was so friendly but only want play with your hand.wrist. Only 6 months old but already so big!
1908/2018: This guy looks just like a simple wooden statue, but actually he was one of 6 wooden statues carved out out a massive Macrocarpa tree, each statue sitting proudly overlooking the mouth of the Tamar River in Georgetown, Tasmania.
1909-1910/2018: Such a wild & rugged coast here in Bridport in the central north of Tasmania. Hope this rain storm holds off. If the wind at this point is anything to go by it probably wont!
1911/2018:
We met this guy on our travels. He wandered all the way across the paddock to come and say hello. He was very happy for a pat but didn't want to eat any grass. But seriously check out his eyes!
Aren't they a little creepy, is he look at us or to the left and the right or both!
1912/2018:
We decided to take some of the secondary roads from Bridport to Binalong bay. but 30km from the last turn off we can across a "ROAD CLOSED" sign and found this. Rarr so frustrating. Flowing at 1m high there was no way for us to get through. only about 60km from Binalong bay. Wish they told us 30km ago. So on a massive detour we go. Two flooded roads and a kangaroo later we eventually got to Binalong bay at 10PM at night in the pouring rain!.
1913/2018: Our Breakfast view on Sunday morning at Lichen cafe/restaurant [the only food outlet in Binalong bay]. Can you spot what is wrong with this picture. Something in missing on our Hyundi Accent...bloody Kangaroo!!
1914-1915/2018: We didn't want the kangaroo to spoil our weekend adventure so after a bite to eat and waiting for the skies to clear to continued this Tassie adventure. So much beautiful beaches her in Binalong bay and the views and the rocks are very impressive. If it was a little warmer [even though it is the middle of summer] we would have ventured into the ocean for a swim. next time maybe. So much fun wandering, climbing around this rocky foreshore.
1916-1917/2018: What a difference 25km down the coast makes, from the blue sunshine in Binalong bay to here at Shelly point where the clouds have rolled in and the wind is blowing a howling gale. Good old Tasmania, such unpredictable weather. Always come prepared. Just can't prepare for a Kangaroo jumping out in front of you car at dusk.
1918/2018: Twelve [#1]. Anniversary adventures! We have been on so many adventures, no only this year but in the last twelve. From North America, to Europe to Thailand to the Pacific to Australia and New Zealand. Where will our adventures take us over the next twelve years. Wherever they are, as long as I'm hanging out with this guy, they will be awesome!
1919/2018: Such a relaxing part of Tasmania. The sound of the waves and the wind really allow you to unwind and be with nature!
1920-1921/2018: Such a weird effect this afternoon with the clouds. On the left these low lying cliuds filled the beach for ages but very slowly drifted inland and cleared the beach. Such a beautiful afternoon to wander along the beach and explore and find cool stuff on the beach. Or to just sit on the beach reading a book. Which ever way you look at it Tasmania is worth exploring and escaping to.
1922/2018: Footprints in the sand. Who is that walking next to me?
1923/2018: This water is filthy and a bit stinky but it does create this cool reflection against the bright blue sky. Quite the contrast to the blue and white beach just to the left [1920-1921]
1924/2018: goodnight Tasmania.
1925-1929/2018: The rocks here are full of orange lichen. We thought this lichen was the reason this area was know as the bay of fires but, this name actually came about because back in the day, there were so many fires burning on the horizon burning all the crops so that regeneration could occur, that from a distance this area was full of fires along the bay, hence the name.
1930-1931/2018: Twelve [#2 and #3].
1932/2018: One of the most beautiful bays in Bilalong bay. So much orange and blue and places to go adventuring.
1933-1934/2018: Which point of focus do you prefer?
1935/2018: From Binalon bay we ventured south to Milton. on our way we stopped here at the Bicheno Bay lookout. Such stunning landscape. This is why I love driving holidays, it allows you to just stop and start whenever and wherever you like to capture and absorb the beautiful spots of the land around you. #traveloften
1936/2018: Twelve [#4]
1937-1940/2018: Some beautiful vineyards over on the East Coast. So many funky local vineyards with so much character and delicious wine to explore!
1943-1944/2018: So many windy, roads to explore in Tasmania with beauty around every corner
1945-1946/2018: The cool things you can create with some sky and branches!
1947/2018: Just love Hydrangeas. So many different shades of flowers depending on the acidity of the soil. And even when they are dying they are beautiful!
1948-1949/2018: One last winery on this Tassie adventure. Josef Cromey, just outside of Launceston. Beautiful views and the most amazing restaurant. The wines, I expected better actually [just being honest]
1950/2018: Beef cheeks with celeriac puree, lamb shoulder with potato cream, and asparagus and radish and burnt butter salad. YUMMO!
Such a wonderful way to end this part of this epic adventure.
Only 68 photos to go. Can you believe it?
Check out the final hurdle and follow me to the finish line!
