The NZ ANZAC Adventure continue!

Check out the epic adventure so far;

1-150151-300301-450 and 451-600

601/2018: A beautiful end to a beautiful drive. Mount Cook is just there on the left, that high peak in the background.

602/2018:

This is what holidays are all about. Picnicing on the side of the lake with some yummy nibbles [we forgot the sandwiches though] and relaxing with the sounds of jet boats and kids playing and birds singing in the trees above. What more could you ask for in a long weekend in New Zealand.

603-604/2018: I play a lot with water but this time its sand. Not sure why the sand was so brown [maybe some kind of disease or bacteria] but this is Timaru's Caroline Bay in all its glory. More of a walk with the dog beach that a swim and sun bake kind beach.

605/2018: These two has so much fun playing on the beach and chasing and fighting with that stick. Moss [Ginger] and Belle [Black] are my sister's dogs and they are just beautiful. So much energy, so much agility and speed and they just love the beach. Low tide on the beach is the beach time because you get cool reflections from the sky above!

606-607/2018: Ohhh, what cuties!!!

608/2018:

Found this sculpture at the top of the Piazza in Timaru. It's a little ugly and not really wure what it represents [no plaque or anything anywhere] but apparently the counciil raise a  lot of money for it. [it's expensive to be ugly obviously] But what I love about it is the amazing view if frames!!. Looking over Caroline Bay towards Big and Little Mount Peel

609-612/2018: Some beautiful flowers from Nana's and Dad's gardens. The big orange one [bottom right] my Aunty Valmai picked from Nana's garden and her sister made up into a small bouquet for her to have in her room at Margaret Wilson. Nana was so happy to have some flowers from her garden to enjoy. #flowersmakeyousmile

613/2018:

Then this happened.

Happy, silly, funny, rowdy, good, delicious family time. Dallas at the head of the table [as usual] and everyone digging into what is known in our family as "Jamie Oliver Chicken" [Chicken drumsticks and marylands cooked with cannelloni beans, tomatoes, roast veges. herbs and spices] Amazing. So good to have some cool hang out time with the parents, siblings and nieces [and Roderick].

614/2018: Timaru's [not all that] famous Ashbury park. I've played many a rugby game on these fields and  chased our family dog, Murphy, around this park. Lots of memories of this place. Just to the right of the right rugby post is my Kindergarten that I went to in 1990-1992 and played in go carts and fell off the swings and had birthday parties with cardboard cakes!

615/2018: Amazing clouds hovering over these stunning mountains. The Flat mounting just to the right of centre is Little Mount Peel.

616/2018:

Look what I found. The most delicious chocolate chip cookies. Mum was going to buy use some as a thank you for washing her car [it was filthy after our road trip up through the McKenzie Country] but all the shops were closed for ANZAC day. But thankfully the Raewood market shop was open after lunch and they had these in stock.

YUM!

617/2018:

My first ever flat tyre and the first time I've had to change my tyre to the spare all by myself. Thanks Grandad C for showing me how to do this many years ago!

XO

618/2018:

619/2018:

620-622/2018:

I'm not nearly as fit as I was this time last year and todays 17km run around Glebe andn the Bay run definitely showed that. But when there are views like this it totally makes up for it. Last year I was in peak performance for the UTA 50 in mid May. This year aiming for 30km at the Wings for Life Run in Melbourne to raise money for spinal cord injury research.

623-626/2018: I arrived in Dee Why early this morning [due to Sydney's unpredicitable traffic] so managed to spend a few minutes hanging out with these guys as they cleaned themselves up for the day and played in the waves. Joys of community physio life!

627/2018: It's not often I commute home from work on the western side of the Gladesville Bridge. But when I do it is totally worth it!

628-637/2018: These are for mum and my Aunty Maureen who both just love the Anzac Bridge [it's definitely my favourite too]. A beautiful walk around Blackwattle bay tonight with Izzy [although pretty sure I enjoyed it A LOT more than Izzy did]. Such beautiful colours and lines and reflections. Love this time of the year in Sydney.

638-640/2018:

SO EXCITED to back playing with different exposures and creating some cool images. Especially tonight as I didn't even have my tripod with me and still managed to snap off these beauties.

This is one of the things I love about photography is that I have walked this route a thousand times over the last 12 years but the beauty of light can allow me to capture the same subject differently each time as I change my physical settings.

#gettingcreative

641/2018:

Charles Street Parish. I love cathcing the bus to work, I get to walk [or run] to the bus, chill out on the bus, then a casual stroll to work. This is where I get off. On an overcast day, a slight chill in the air and when I get off straight away i see this perfect sight thorugh the parish doors right htrough to the stained glass windows.

This reminds me of a quote from year 13, "Hear all, See all, Say nout. You were given two eyes and tow ears but only one mouth for a reason, take the time to just look andd listen to the world around.

Enjoy the beauty that is is this stunning world we live in!

642/2018: HELLO MELBOURNE.

So excited for the weekend in Melbourne.

This coffee looks [and smells] delicious. For some reason Melbourne just do coffee best. Lots of small coffee joints and coffee beans. This long black is only half full [kinda feel a little ripped off] but it is so pure and creamy and full of caramel and honey flavours. Less water diluting all the gorgeous flavours!

Looking forward to exploring this amazing city and just hanging out eating yum food and funky beer and preparing ourselves to "run for those who can't"

642-643/2018: The cool things you find when exploring the streets of Melbourne

645-648/2018: The beautiful colours of Autumn. A touch of yellow, a splash of brown and some lingering green. I always love this time of year as the seasons change, not only for the cooler weather but for the colourful beauty that comes with it.

These shots were taken as we walked through Fitzroy gardens on our way to the AFL at the MCG. So often people just walk though this beautiful gardens and don't even see the detail of its beauty, rushing or chatting or sleeping. I love capturing the different lines and detail of places like this. Take the time today to capture something different that you see everyday!

649/2018:

The amazing Melbourne Cricket Ground [MCG]. It's no longer cricket season so AFL it is.

only about 2/3 full at 55,000!

650/2018:

This made me laugh so much, check out her facial expressions. Surely they could have chosen a better face for her?!?

. This is Australia's "Golden Girl" Betty Cuthbert who won 4 track gold medals [3 in Melbourne in 1956 and another in Tokyo in 1964] But

651/2018:

Love this action shot of fast bowler Dennis Lillee from the 1970-80s. When he retired in 1984 he was the highest wicket taker with 355 victims!

652-653/2018: The cool things you see while being stuck in the crowd walking from the MCG to Federation Square. From the city and the over bridge to the reflection of Federation Square itself!

#justlookup

654-655/2018: This beauty you see when you don't just follow the crowd [I thought I was, until I crossed the road and they didn't]. A wrong turn resulted in this stunning sunset of the Yarra River and the city of Melbourne.

656-658/2018: tonight's sunset is brought to you buy the number 3 and the colour orange.

The things I love about getting lost in a city and not having an agenda is you end up on the look out of cool lines, lights, patterns and effects like these. Stop looking straight ahead! Look around the corner, look up, look down, look around you. Take the time to enjoy the many shades of orange

659/2018: I went on a little mission [losing the team in the process, whoops] and managed to capture Melbourne's Eiffel Tower and South Bank in all its lit up glory without a tripod. So much coLour. Getting excited for Sydney's VIVID festival of lights at the end of this month!

660-663/2018: Exploring a sunny, cold, arty, funky city!

664/2018: Stalking these funky three! [I wonder what they are looking at? Probably a puppy!]

665/2018:

Thanks CH for introducing use to this amazing place [and for the all terrain cross country entrance].

Lucy Liu's Vietmanese set menu was the best way to spend sunday afternonn and prepare us for tonights race.

Lucy's food was so delicious and full of flavour food from the beetle leaves to the pork salad to the prawn wontons, the crispy skin baramuundi and spicy chicken sang choi bou!!!

And they were so accommodating to our group that required nut free, vegetarian and chill free! Thanks Lucy!!

YUMMO!

666-670/2018: Hosier Lane in the heart of Melbourne

Some amazing art here and very cool to have a free public space for people to share their beautiful talent!

Love how every cm of this laneway is covered !

671/2017: This is what this weekend is all about! The Red Bull Wings for Life World run to 'run for those who can't' and raise vital money for spinal cord injury research! Let's go Team!

 672-676/2018:

So excited for tonights run. This is a amazing concept for a run and the only one of it's kind in the world. This run is run along in over 35 countries around the world at exactly the same time. Approx 102,000 men and women around the world came together all with one goal in mind, "to run for tose who can't" and raise money for spinal injury research! For use here in Melbourne we started at 9PM, [running at night is very cool] running as far as we could before the catcher car CAUGHT us. That's right, you don't reach the finish line, the finish line reaches you. So incredibly humbling to be apart to this phenomenal event!

Check our wingsforlifeworldrun.com for more amazing pictures and videos from this event around the world!

677/2018:

Think I have definitely deserved this one. Couldn't leave Melbourne without trying anoter beautiful coffee. [And they serves a shot of sparkling water with this one. Stoked]

Melbourne you have been awesome. An amazing few days with amazing people, amazing food and coffee and one absolutely spectacular cause. Thanks to everyone who sponsored our team to raise vital money for spinal injury research. Can't wait to do it all again next year! If you want to join us, keep 9PM on Sunday 5 May 2019 FREE.

#runningforthosewhocant

678-679/2018:

The cool things you find at this time of year wandering around the local street #sydneysunsetclub

680-681/2018: Jones Bay Wharf, Barnagaroo and Sydney Harbour Bridge in all its evening glory.

Love exploring our beautiful harbour and playing with light. These two photos were taken just 2 minutes apart!

682/2018: A great haul at low tide this morning. Some beauties to add to the collection.

683-688/2018: Found this cool new laneway in Darling Square, lots of colour, art, food and a barber shop. Check it out Steam Mill Lane at Darling Square now.

689/2018: Happy Mums Day to all the beautiful mums out there. My Mum lives in NZ [and after waking her up at 10PM I managed to chat to her today] but she is so full of energy and love and am so grateful for her support and late night skype chats. Looking forward to hanging out for a few days in July!!

With Mum in NZ, I hung out with my Mum-in-law today and went for Yum Cha [her favourite thing to do for Sunday lunch]. Thanks Miriam for all you love and cups of tea and for looking after Izzy when we take of on an adventures!!!

690-691/2018:

I love exploring the streets of Sydney and taking a walk down history lane. So cool that even with all the development around Sydney there are still places here the history remains for everyone to learn and appreciate and reflect on what use to be.

692/2018: I'm love seafood, but I tend to default to samlon [it's easy and yum and super health] but I decided to mix it up with this piece of barramundi [BarraMonday] and man it was delicious - Lemon BBQ Barramundi with caper salsa and greens. YUMMO

693-699/2018: Who needs Sydney's Vivid Festival and a tripod to take cool night shots. Living near the Harbour there are so many place to wander and explore and capture it's beauty.

Playing with exposures and lights and lines is definitely one of my favourite forms of photography! For more pictures like this check out my EXPOSED exhibition for a couple of years ago!

700/2018:

Over one third of the way there. Thirty four point seven percent [34.7%] complete in fact. An what better and yummier way to showcase number seven hundred than with this delicious Thai kumera [sweet potato] soup wiht toasted sesame seeds and spicy chorizo!. So yum and healthy [well, the chorizo is debatable be all regurgitated and all] and filling. Look forward to cooking this one again on a cold winters evening!

701-709/2018:

I love it when my work day finishes like this. Running for fun [with no ulterior motive] is the best. Especially when it's along a beach and the water, sun and sky is behaving like this. One of the [top 5] things I love about being a community physio: getting to travel and explore this beautiful city we live in.

710/2018:

I think Sydney is struggling with climate change. It's getting very confused as to what season it is. Does it know that it is autumn and not summer. Very unusual to see this Frangapani tree flowering in May.

How will we combat climate change. I'm not really sure but i know adding a carbon tax won't make a scrape of difference.

Can we really compete with for amazing force of nature?

711/2018:

Eenny meeny minny mo. Where should I go?

Anywhere but Canberra...

712/2018:

Haha, joke of the day

Thanks for the tasting

@wineselectors

713-715/2018: The only time I can get my vitamin D fix for the day during early morning walks around Ballina, NSW while on Rural Clinic for work. People always say/ask "have a great week" but when you are in the clinic from 8am to 8pm, that can be pretty hard, so my morning 45 minute walk is extremely important!!!

716-718/2018: Learning some of the history of this costal town.

719-720/2018: I love beach adventures. So many lines, colours and reflections to explore on the ever changing tide.

721-728/2018:

Such a gorgeous sunsrise this morning. From the dark orange reflections to the golden splashes of water. The gradual change of a sunrise is just stunning. Wish I lived closer to the coast so I could have early morning sunrise walks more often.

729/2018:

Granny what large teeth you have!

All the better to eat you with.

730/2018:

Did not expect this to happen this morning. As I walked along the Richmond River in Ballina and under the bridge I saw this little [ish] guy playing in the water with some friends. These dolphins [so maybe even sharks] were having a great time in the morning waters. I thought it would be too cold for them at this time of year. They obviously breed them tough up this way!

731-736/2018: Similar early morning walk. similar sunset, Different day.

737/2018: As the tide slowly drops, this sand bank slowly appears in the middle of the Richmond River in Ballina. A great little spot for these pelicans to clean themselves!

738/2018: Homeward bound.

What a crazy busy week it's been up here in Ballina. A little bit of sunshine on the skin during my early morning sunrise walks, but otherwise it was clinic, clinic, clinic, education, eating and sleeping for the rest of this adventure.

Looking forward to some rest, to unwind and hanging out with Roderick and Izzy.

739/2018: Glad to be home and getting a little excited for Vivid. An amazing festival of lights, music and ideas for 23 days between 25/5 - 16/6. The biggest light festival of its kind in the world. If you are in Australia over the next three weeks make sure you get down to Sydney's Harbours for a sensory spectacular!

740-743/2018: Weekday strolls through the city.

744/2018: Travelling at the speed of light [is probably a scary thing. Would our human bodies even cope with this extreme force?]

745/2018: This central station looks so deserted. Hard to believe it is the central station of Australasia's [Oceania's] most populous city of over 5.37million

748-749/2018: Found this beautiful old Porsche [911 I think] on our wanderings yesterday. On the back window [in front of the yellow circle] is says "Life is too chort to drive boring cars". So good!

750/2018:

After a week of eating out while away for work, it is so good to be home and to have this delicious home cooked meal, especially when it looks like this! Crispy skin salmon with avocado, pea, kipfler potato, chilli, coriander and lemon salad! Yum.

WOW. Seven hundred and fifty done [37%]
